Black, white, and silver created a striking foundation for this sophisticated Tampa wedding. The couple paired a sleek, modern design with meaningful traditions, romantic portraits, and an incredible downtown reception for a celebration that felt glamorous while remaining timeless.
Tammy Waterman of Special Moments Event Planning thoughtfully coordinated the day, bringing together three distinct Tampa locations and an incredible team of vendors. From preparations at Hilton Tampa Downtown to the ceremony at St. Athanasius Syriac Orthodox Church, portraits at Whitehurst Gallery, and the evening reception back at the Hilton, every transition felt intentional and beautifully connected.
The day began at Hilton Tampa Downtown, where the clean, contemporary surroundings complemented the couple’s modern wedding style. The downtown setting gave us a polished backdrop for getting-ready photographs, details, and those quieter moments of anticipation before the ceremony.
A Timeless Ceremony at St. Athanasius Syriac Orthodox Church
The celebration continued at St. Athanasius Syriac Orthodox Church, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends. The ceremony brought a beautiful sense of tradition to the day, creating a meaningful contrast to the contemporary aesthetic of the reception.
We especially love photographing ceremonies rich in tradition because there are so many meaningful details beyond the vows themselves. Family reactions, ceremonial moments, and small exchanges between the couple all become an important part of telling the complete story of the wedding.
Editorial Portraits at Whitehurst Gallery
Following the ceremony, Whitehurst Gallery offered a softer, more organic setting for portraits. The lush greenery and artistic character of the property created a romantic backdrop while giving the couple’s gallery an entirely different look from the downtown hotel and church.
As a Tampa wedding photography team, Lifelong Photography Studio loves finding locations that provide both beautiful light and variety. Whitehurst Gallery gave us the opportunity to create romantic, editorial-inspired portraits surrounded by greenery before heading back downtown for the evening celebration.
A Luxurious Black, White & Silver Reception at Hilton Tampa Downtown
Back at Hilton Tampa Downtown, the couple’s vision truly came to life. The ballroom was transformed with a dramatic black, white, and silver palette, creating a reception that felt clean, modern, and luxurious.
Wonderland Floral Art & Gift Loft added beautiful floral designs throughout the space, while Gabro Event Services brought in the draping, rentals, chairs, and uplighting that helped define the room. Silver accents caught the evening light beautifully, crisp white details kept the design fresh, and black elements added the perfect amount of drama and contrast.
The finished reception was a wonderful example of how a limited color palette can still create an incredible amount of visual impact. Rather than relying on lots of color, the design used texture, lighting, metallic details, florals, and contrast to give the ballroom depth and personality.
The guest experience was just as thoughtfully planned. Tampa Bay Cake Company created the wedding cake, while The Gelato Carte and Cafe A La Carte added fun dessert and coffee experiences for guests to enjoy throughout the evening. Live music from Sebagabo brought another beautiful element to the celebration.
As dinner transitioned into dancing, Hagz Productions brought the party to life with DJ entertainment, a photobooth, and sparkler fountains. The sparkler effects looked especially incredible against the black and silver reception design and created some of our favorite high-energy photographs of the evening.
Ricci Ocampos Films documented the celebration through video, while Classic Wedding Cars of Sarasota provided transportation and Flower Walls of Tampa added another decorative element to the reception.
