For couples dreaming of a Tampa wedding that feels anything but ordinary, this celebration at The Florida Aquarium and Hotel Haya brought together two completely different sides of the city for one unforgettable day. From the colorful character and historic charm of Ybor City to a romantic ceremony surrounded by the underwater world of The Florida Aquarium, every part of this wedding offered something unique.
The day began at Hotel Haya in Ybor City, where the couple got ready surrounded by the hotel’s beautiful blend of historic Tampa architecture and modern design. With wedding planner CJ Inzirillo helping bring the details of the celebration together, the morning was filled with excitement and anticipation before everyone headed into downtown Tampa for the ceremony.
Hotel Haya is one of our favorite Tampa locations for getting-ready photographs because there is so much variety within the property and surrounding neighborhood. Beautiful interiors, warm natural light, colorful architectural details, balconies, brick streets, and the unmistakable personality of historic Ybor City give us endless opportunities to create wedding photographs that feel polished while still having a sense of place.
From Ybor City, the celebration continued at The Florida Aquarium for a ceremony unlike anything you’d experience in a traditional wedding venue. Surrounded by the movement, colors, and soft glow of the underwater exhibits, the couple exchanged vows in an atmosphere that felt intimate, romantic, and completely unexpected.
There is something magical about photographing a wedding at The Florida Aquarium. The underwater scenery becomes part of the story, creating dramatic portraits and ceremony images filled with color, movement, and light. For couples searching for a unique Tampa wedding venue, it offers an experience that feels distinctly different while still being located in the heart of downtown Tampa.
As a Tampa wedding photography team, Lifelong Photography Studio especially loves wedding days that give us opportunities to create different styles of imagery within one gallery. Starting at Hotel Haya allowed us to incorporate the historic architecture and vibrant personality of Ybor City, while The Florida Aquarium created an entirely different mood with its dramatic underwater surroundings.
After the ceremony, everyone returned to Hotel Haya for an evening of celebration. As daylight faded and Ybor City came alive for the night, the atmosphere shifted from the emotion of the ceremony to dinner, laughter, dancing, and celebrating with family and friends.
The transition from under the sea to under the stars made this wedding especially memorable. Hotel Haya’s distinctive style and energetic Ybor City surroundings provided the perfect contrast to the dreamy underwater ceremony, giving the couple a wedding experience that felt sophisticated, fun, and unmistakably Tampa.
One of the things we love most about photographing Hotel Haya weddings is the opportunity to step outside and incorporate Ybor City into the couple’s portraits. Historic brick buildings, colorful streets, balconies, and urban architecture provide backdrops that feel completely different from Tampa’s traditional waterfront wedding venues. These surroundings allow us to create images with an editorial feel while still capturing genuine interactions between our couples.
At Lifelong Photography Studio, we’ve photographed weddings throughout Tampa Bay for years, and we love celebrations that showcase the personality of our city. Pairing The Florida Aquarium with Hotel Haya gives couples two incredibly distinctive Tampa experiences within one wedding day—and creates a gallery filled with variety from beginning to end.
For couples planning a Florida Aquarium wedding, Hotel Haya wedding, or a celebration in Ybor City, this combination proves that a Tampa wedding doesn’t have to fit into one traditional style. You can have historic architecture, modern design, underwater romance, city portraits, and an unforgettable reception all within one celebration.
If you’re planning your own Tampa wedding and looking for photographers who know and love the area’s venues, Lifelong Photography Studio would love to tell your story. Our goal is to preserve the beautiful portraits as well as the spontaneous, emotional moments that make your wedding completely your own.
