While we specialize in capturing the entire first year journey through our Baby Story package, we also excel at photographing each milestone individually. Hiring a maternity and newborn photographer can be a daunting process. Where do you begin? With Lifelong, you begin here; at your complimentary consultation. It’s during this phone meeting we will learn about each other and create the session that feels right for your family. From start to finish, we are committed to providing our clients with a unique experience beyond just photos. While, yes, we are providing some of the most beautiful photography in Tampa, we are also providing an unforgettable experience. Great portraits begin with a great relationship.
LOCATION
Now is the time to start thinking about where you want to capture these precious moments. Your little one will only be this size for such a short period of time, so it is important to capture this time to remember those small tiny details. We are here to help you select the best locations for your Maternity, Newborn and smash cake photos! We like to shoot a combination of stylized and lifestyle images and the location we select for each of your sessions will be match the style of your family.
waRDROBE STYLING
We provide all of the stylized props for the newborn sessions! For the rest of the family, we suggest keeping patterns to a minimum. Also, keep in mind that textures and accessories are your friend. Since you will be hanging these photos in your house you want to make sure the colors of your clothes go with the color scheme of your home.
We will send you some wardrobe ideas and you can always reach out before your session. We love to get a feel for your style and help you select the best wardrobe for your family!
MAternity session
Maternity Sessions are some of our favorite sessions and there is nothing sweeter than getting the opportunity to capture a growing family. There is something special about those last few months before you welcome a new bundle of joy into your home. We can do this shoot with or without dad and we typically shoot around the 7-8 month mark. Please keep in mind that we typically book sessions about 2 months in advance but it is never too early to reserve your slot.
Newborn SEssion
Within the first few weeks of life, your new baby is squishy, bendy, tiny and extra sleepy. It is the perfect time to have a portrait session. We typically recommend 5-10 days old for portrait sessions. We can work with babies up to six weeks old for newborn portraits. It is important to factor in the Style of portraits that you would like for your session though. If you are looking for a posed newborn session, 4-10 days is best.
Call us to make a tentative booking based on your due date and then I will wait to hear from you when your new baby finally arrives. We can arrange a suitable time and date for your session then. We offer morning or afternoon sessions, depending on the schedule of your newborn.
DELIVERY
Congratulations! You have created the perfect gift for your family that will be passed down for generations to come. You will receive the finalized images online to view and depending on the package you purchase, you will receive a variety of special heirlooms. We know that even in this digital world it's important to have tangible images to hold. We offer a variety of albums and prints to have and to hold forever. It's never the wrong decision to invest in family heirlooms! We can't wait to get started capturing your Lifelong memories!

Our most popular location is our baby room. Located in our founder's home, this space has been thoughtfully designed with comfort and convenience in mind. We understand the needs of new parents. We want you to feel like this space is really just an extension of your own home. From our cozy Parent Lounge to the white bed and even the restroom, we’ve tried to think of everything that will make your visit with us easy, convenient and most important…. enjoyable.

Many parents choose to have their newborn session in the comfort of their own home. We bring the studio to you and bring all of the newborn accessories too! Keep in mind that we need lots of light to photograph the baby and we also need blank walls that are free from photos and clutter. If you are thinking about doing the session in your home, please reach out and we can help you decide if this is the best fit for your session.
THE FIELD

We do most of our maternity and family sessions at our favorite location in Lutz! This special location has multiple fields, expansive boardwalks, large trees and so much more. It makes for the perfect backdrop for any family as well as for our expecting moms to be. The variety of options allows us to get an array of poses.
THE Beach

For those of you wanting the true Florida feel and want to take advantage of the gorgeous gulf cost.. we've got you! We have a special spot in mind for you to get the backgrounds you are envisioning. We recommend trying to schedule your session at sunrise or sunset.
WARDROBE STYLING
Finding the perfect outfit
WHAT TO WEAR
Choosing what to wear can often become the hardest part of a family photo-shoot. Our favorite outfits to see on our ladies are long dresses that have a flow to them. Suits and jackets always look the sharpest on our guys. Try to keep patterns to a minimum and mix up the photos with varying textures!
We have set up a Pinterest board below to get you started. Try to select outfits that accentuate the areas of your body that you love and minimize what you may be self-conscious about. For example, we have showcased a variety of outfits that have sleeves if you are not in love with your arms. As far as colors go, we encourage you to dress in a color palate that will match the style of your home, since that is where your images will end up hanging!
For the Littles
Little ones make a big impact in the overall look of the images. For newborns we have lots of props to choose from but we do encourage our couples to bring a few short and long sleeved white and solid onesies. Make sure you have everyone try on their clothes at least one day prior to the session. Don't forget to complete each look with shoes, socks, jackets, headbands and hair bows for older children! Please come to your session dressed to save time.

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY NEWBORN SESSION??
Before your baby is born! Capturing your newborn within the first two weeks of life, while they are still sleepy and curled up, can make all the difference in your newborn portraits. Our schedule fills up several weeks in advance so please call to schedule your newborn appointment before your baby is born. Since we never really know when your little one will arrive, we will pencil you in on our calendar to hold a spot for you. When your baby is born we will move your appointment accordingly.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PHOTOGRAPH MY NEWBORN?
Newborns are photographed within the first 2 weeks (ideally 7-10 days) of life, when they are still sleepy and can be curled up into the beautiful poses we are so well known for. However, beautiful images can be achieved with babies who are slightly older, so not to worry! We take up to two hours for a newborn session and leave plenty of time for feedings, diaper changes and breaks for mommy and baby. Come as soon as you are ready, we can’t wait to meet your new little one.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY NEWBORN SESSION?
Having a sleepy baby makes all the difference in your images and we have lots of tried and true tips on how to prepare before you arrive for your session. Once your session is reserved on our schedule we will send you a link to our session preparation instructions to ensure that your newborn session goes smoothly.
When do we schedule a maternity session
If you're counting by weeks, schedule your session when you're around 30 weeks pregnant. If you take maternity photos after your eighth month of pregnancy, your maternity might be uncomfortable.
HOw many people can be in the photos?
While we do not have a maximum, please let us know if there will be more than 6 people involved in a single shoot. We love for little ones to be part of all sessions. However, we encourage bringing someone like a grandparent to keep an eye on children under 7 when they are not participating in the newborn and maternity photos.
The images we will capture today will one day become the most important thing your family will ever own. Documenting your legacy is one of the greatest gifts you can ever give them.
